I am mum to a toddler. A three-foot-tall, barely coherent dictator who governs everything in my life from sleep, to food, to mood. My husband works several jobs and has several projects on the go in his “spare time”, so normally it is just me and the little guy. Life is a cycle of cBeebies, soft play and swimming and I worry that I have lost my self to this creature. I am now mummy and therein lies my whole identity. Life before kid (LBK) involved studying (towards an MA), drinking a lot and often, and socialising or travelling. Now in an attempt to regain or retain some semblance of myself outside of just ‘mum’ I have started writing down some of the things I think are relevant, as a mum and as a person. They should be funny, they should be interesting but above all, they should be honest.
